I have a lot of respect for Remembrance Day - I had a grandfather and great-grandfather who fought as soldiers in WWII and WWI, respectively. I think it's important that our government, on behalf of its citizens, take care of the veterans of these wars, as well as veterans of other wars. The news that instead, our government is making it more difficult for WWII veterans to receive services, is terrible, and so disrespectful.
Watch this rant (above) by the well-known Canadian journalist, Rick Mercer. He's known for having a strong opinion and expressing it rather bluntly (hence, a rant). What do you think of his position on this topic? Is he right? What should "regular" Canadians be doing about this move by the Canadian Government?

And here's another rant by Rick, from just a week before Remembrance Day. What is our Canadian government doing to our veterans? What can we do?
